Live!Ware 3.0 Readme File

This document provides late-breaking or other information that
supplements the Live!Ware 3.0 documentation.

Note: If you have purchased a computer directly from a PC
manufacturer (eg. DELL, Compaq, Gateway, Micron etc.) that
comes with a SB Live! Value card, installing Live!Ware 3.0
will cause some of the customized settings or features to
be upgraded to Live!Ware 3.0.

1. INSTALLATION NOTES
1.1 Directory Structure of Live!Ware CD-ROM

This CD-ROM is divided into the following subdirectories:

Please refer to the user documentation that comes with your
Sound Blaster package for more information on these
software applications.



1.2 Installing in Windows 95/98/NT 4.0

If you have Windows 95/98/NT 4.0 on your system, the
software installation process is simple as this CD-ROM
is Autoplay-enabled. Follow the steps outlined below:

1) Insert this CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
2) The Sound Blaster 'Welcome' screen which contains a menu
of available options will appear. This is the Setup
Options menu.
3) Check the applications you want to install and click
the OK button. Follow the instructions on the screen to
complete the installation.

If you wish to reinstall any of the software on the
CD-ROM later, you can eject the Live!Ware CD-ROM
from your CD-ROM drive, and then close the CD-ROM tray.
Windows 95/98/NT will recognize the Live!Ware CD-ROM's
Autoplay feature and the Setup Options menu will be made
available again.



1.3 Saving existing Environmental Audio and Super-Environment
presets

In order to install Live!Ware 3.0 sucessfully, you will
need to uninstall all previous instances of the Sound
Blaster Live! software from your PC. Uninstalling your
existing software will also remove all your present
Environmental Audio (EA) and Super-Environment presets
from your PC.

If you want to keep your existing:

EA presets
1) Click Start -> Programs -> Creative ->
Sound Blaster Live! -> AudioHQ.
2) In the AudioHQ window, click the Environmental Audio
icon to start the EA applet.
3) In the Environment box, select the EA preset that you
want to export, and then click the Export button.
4) Save the preset in a temporary folder on your Desktop.
5) Repeat Step 3 to Step 4 until all presets you want are
saved.
6) Install Live!Ware 3.0.
7) Import the saved presets (.eap, .ea2) using the EA
applet.

Super-Environment presets
1) Click Start -> Programs -> Creative ->
Sound Blaster Live! -> Surround Mixer.
2) In Surround Mixer, select the Task and Preset that you
want to save.
3) On the top-right of Surround Mixer, click the Preset
Options button, and then select Export Preset.
4) Save the preset in a temporary folder on your Desktop.
5) Repeat Step 2 to Step 4 until all presets you want are
saved.
6) Install Live!Ware 3.0.
7) Import the saved presets (.sea) using Surround Mixer.
