| Description |
Floppy disk and CD for Yamaha MU10XG MIDI synthesizer. Includes Win3.1 and Win95 drivers, and additional utilities. I belive the MU10XG is functionally equivalent to a DB50XG just in an external unit, so this may be useful to owners of both.
Here is the readme from the CD:
******************************
WELCOME TO YAMAHA'S MU10 CD ROM
******************************
Hello and thank you for purchasing the Yamaha MU10 tone generator. To help you get the most from this product, Yamaha have included some useful & interesting files on this CD ROM.
**************
ADOBE ACROBAT
**************
To read all of the text and help documents, including the MU10 Manual, please install the Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Acrobat folder, and then you can launch the Manual or any of the pdf files contained within the XG Information files folder. These contain information relating to XG should you need to know more than the manual details.
**************
DRIVERS
**************
For Windows users, please see the appropriate folder WIN31DRV or WIN95DRV for the Driver software to use this hardware. Instrucions are contained in the Read Me file in each folder.
**************
XG EDIT
**************
Also, for Windows users, we have included Gary Gregson's superb XGEdit v2.0, which allows full manipulation of the MU10 directly from your PC.
This item is Shareware and is save disabled, although all the editing functions are fully operational. For further information on this, please see the help file within the application.
A Macintosh version of this editor is currently in production & should be available soon.
**************
CUBASIS
**************
If you're new to the world of sequencing, Steinberg have allowed us to give you a personal version of their popular Cubasis sequencer, so you can enjoy your new MU10 straight away. Please run the Cubasis installer, within the Cubasis folder. You will need to restart your system before you are able to run the software.
**************
MIDI FILES
**************
In the Midi files folder on the CD, we have given you some files to get you started. There are short clips, maybe for use in audio/visual presentations, some full pieces and three Reset files.
All these files are Public Domain and Freeware. Please feel free to edit them and use them to learn more about the power of XG.
PDs
**************
These are full-length pieces exploring some of the ways you can use XG
RESET FILES
**************
These files are here for those "just in case" times when you might try to play a Standard Midi File from another source which may not have any GM/GS/XG reset message at the beginning of a file. In this situation, your files may develop strange cases of distortion on the strings, or phaser on the piano. No need to worry, help is at hand. Simply load one of these files into your sequencer (whichever is most appropriate for your reset-free file) and hit the play button - instant reset! Each file is less than one bar long and contains simply the correct System Exclusive setup messages
for all three Midi File types.
